Cụ thể, Viện đã nuôi cấy và phân lập thành công nCoV trong phòng thí nghiệm. Việc nuôi cấy thành công này sẽ tạo điều kiện cho việc xét nghiệm nhanh các trường hợp nhiễm và nghi nhiễm nCoV. Với việc này, mỗi ngày tại Việt Nam sẽ có khả năng xét nghiệm hàng nghìn mẫu bệnh phẩm trong trường hợp cần thiết.
Specifically, the Institute has cultured and successfully isolated nCoV in the laboratory. This successful culture will contribute to rapid testing of nCoV infections and suspected cases. And with this, every day Vietnam will be able to test thousands of specimens in case of need.
Ông Đặng Đức Anh - viện trưởng Viện Vệ sinh dịch tễ trung ương cho hay, virus này được phân lập từ mẫu bệnh phẩm lấy từ người bệnh nhiễm tại Việt Nam.

Hiện nay, Việt Nam đang có trên 1000 người từ Trung Quốc trở về và gần 500 người có tiếp xúc gần với người nhiễm nCoV đang được cách ly, theo dõi, giám sát và chờ kết quả xét nghiệm.
