Vietnam purchases 10 million doses of Cuban-made COVID-19 vaccine
Việt Nam đã ký hợp đồng mua 10 triệu liều vắc xin COVID-19 do Cuba phát triển trong chuyến thăm cấp Nhà nước của chủ tịch nước Nguyễn Xuân Phúc tới đảo quốc Caribe kết thúc vào ngày 20/9 vừa qua.
Vietnam signed a contract to buy 10 million doses of Cuban-developed vaccines against COVID-19 during the visit of State Present Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the island nation of the Caribbean that ended on September 20.
Năm triệu mũi vắc-xin Abdala, do Trung tâm Kỹ thuật Di truyền và Công nghệ Sinh học (CIGB) phát triển và sản xuất tại Phòng thí nghiệm AICA ở Cuba, sẽ được chuyển giao cho Việt Nam. Đồng thời, hai nước cũng đã ký biên bản ghi nhớ về việc mua 5 triệu liều thuốc tiêm chủng Soberana 02 jab của Cuba.
Five million shots of the Abdala vaccine, developed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) and produced at AICA Laboratories in Cuba, will be transferred to Vietnam. At the same time, the two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding on the purchase of five million doses of Cuban Soberana 02 jab.
Vắc xin 3 mũi Abdala sử dụng công nghệ tái tổ hợp dựa trên cơ sở protein tương tự như ứng viên vắc xin Nano Covax của Việt Nam đang chờ để được phép sử dụng khẩn cấp.
The three-shot vaccine of Abdala uses the same recombinant protein-based technology which is similar to Vietnam’s Nano Covax vaccine candidate, which is awaiting approval for emergency use.
