Việt Nam đã ghi nhận ca tử vong do Covid-19thứ 52 vào chiều nay, nâng con số tử vong trong đợt Covid-19 mới nhất lên con số 17.
Vietnam recorded its 52nd Covid-19 death this afternoon, bringing the fatality tally in its latest Covid-19 wave to 17.
Bệnh nhân tử vong là một phụ nữ 35 tuổi, quê ở Lạng Sơn. Chị bị ung thư đại tràng giai đoạn cuối di căn phổi, đã 5 lần điều trị hóa chất tại Bệnh viện K Hà Nội.
The deceased is a 35-year-old woman from the northern province of Lang Son. She has had late-stage colon cancer which metastasized to her lungs, and was treated with chemotheraphy five times in Hanoi's K Hospital.
Chị có kết quả dương tính với coronavirus vào ngày 17/5 và được chuyển đến Bệnh viện Đức Giang để điều trị. Lúc đó chị sốt cao và có dấu hiệu suy hô hấp tiến triển.
She tested positive for the coronavirus on May 17 and was transferred to the Duc Giang Hospital for treatment. At the time she had high fever and showed signs of progressive respiratory failure.
Ngày 22/5, chị được chuyển đến Bệnh viện Bệnh Nhiệt đới Trung ương trong tình trạng viêm phổi do Covid-19 gây suy hô hấp tiến triển, kèm theo nhiễm nấm.

She was put on ventilators and used numerous drugs, but did not respond well to treatments. She passed away Friday night, her causes of death being pneumonia caused by Covid-19, septic shock and progressive respiratory failure.
