To succeed in a business, one needs to be good at maths. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Today, many people regard maths as a key factor leading to success in a business. From my point of view, maths is useful for businessmen if they want to achieve success it is not the only factor deciding if the business is successful or not.
On one hand, if the businessmen have good maths skills, they will be able to calculate their capital amount and operating costs to choose wisely whether they should do the business or not. Moreover, by the judgment skills of maths, they will be able to predict the market volatility so they can hand perfect solutions to all the problems they would meet.
On the other hand, I believe that one can run their business successfully without excellent maths skills, for example, the billionaire Jack Ma - the president of Alibaba and one of the most affluent people in the world with a net worth of $61.4 billion. He said at an interview before that he was not good at maths and for then he couldn’t read the accounting reports. However, it’s undeniable that he’s one of the few people who achieve a successful business and has a massive influence in the world.
In a nutshell, I am of the belief that an entrepreneur can be driven to success not only by good maths skills but also some other personalities and skills, including risk-taking, good communication skills, and some lucks. Therefore, if one wants to own a successful business, they should focus on learning some interpersonal skills more, so that their percentage of business success can be much higher than if they only have good maths skills.
