Some people think that dangerous extreme sports such as rock climbing and sky-diving should be banned. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?
In the past few years, we have beheld a significant rise in dangerous extreme sports, such as rock climbing and sky-diving. Some people are of the opinion that they should be banned for the sake of man's health. From my perspective, I disagree with this statement to a certain extent.
To begin with, while I do not support an outright ban, I do think that the government must take responsibility for regulating these sports so that they are played under supreme supervision. It goes without saying that such dangerous extreme sports result in injuries or even deaths. Nevertheless, banning them is not an exact solution. Instead, the government ought to ensure that the centers or companies providing rock climbers and sky-divers with facilities have to fulfil the legal safety standards. Additionally, those sportsmen must have expertise in these sports by means of enrolling on courses and having sufficient trainings, so that they could minimize the risks.
What's more, there may be some demerits for nations that ban these sports. Rock climbing and sky-diving have been played on a global scale, there are many international competitions. Accordingly, those who excel in these sports may win, break records then bring name and fame to their country.
In a nutshell, there are both risks and merits that each individual and country can obtain from these dangerous extreme sports. Those sportsmen must go through adequate training and courses before practicing them, and banning these sports is not the best solution.
Some people argue that adventurous sports must be thoroughly prohibited by governments, while others think it is each person’s freedom to follow his or her interests. From my perspective, despite unexpected dangers, people should be allowed to do these sports as long as they are provided with enough essential knowledge.
To begin with, it is undeniable that dangerous sports like rock climbing or sky-diving hide more potential risks compared to other kinds of sport, which may cause heavy injuries and even death among players. Additionally, risky sports are not included in the Olympics game or big-scale tournaments so the government has few or no profits for stimulating risky sports to be widespread in its country.
However, every sport has specific safety measures and regulations in order to ensure that serious accidents could not take place. Besides, people who take part in risky sports are usually required to undergo appropriate training before making an official experience. Adventurous people will definitely not bet their lives without getting enough practice as well as making certain that they are protected by high-quality equipment and technology. As a result, I believe that if the players have all the necessary information and comply with rules strictly, there will be no danger and there is no reason for the government to ban extreme sports. Furthermore, it is proved that these experiences would help participants to get rid of tension in daily life, which improves both their physical and mental health.
In conclusion, instead of depriving opportunities for citizens to adventure new challenges, The government should equip safety equipment and have specific regulations to avoid the risks of participating in these sports.
