Write an essay (150 - 300 words) about this topic:
Some people claim that museums and art galleries are not needed today because everyone can see historical objects or artworks by computer. Do you agree or disagree?
Essay 1:
Many people argue that everyone can see historical objects or artworks by computer without museums and art galleries. However, I don’t agree with this point of view. I believe that museums and art galleries are necessary today.
First of all, all museums and art galleries bring us lots of interesting experiences when we go there to see directly everything. For example, if you love the natural landscapes in Japan, then you will desire to come there to perceive with eyes all of the things and take a breath of the air at that place rather than just look at pictures or videos by computer. In addition, the experience is really important to our life, especially those wonderful and meaningful objects or artworks. We must feel them fully.
Secondly, both museums and art galleries are similar to school. We can get into the place in order to do sightseeing like a tour to learn more new things because we should watch the objects more clearly and carefully. Therefore, everyone has to study by going to school but we might not have everything through computers all the time. In the same way, seeing objects by the laptop is not enough to understand the great values of historical objects or artworks.
Next, those places connect people whose hobby is the same. If you have friends who love museums or art galleries, you should meet them at the place to see and exchange knowledge. Instead of scrolling down social media on the Internet, we can go to museums with friends to talk about historical objects we all love. That will make us closer.
In conclusion, when we see the historical objects or artworks at museums or art galleries, we can have some benefits which the computer cannot bring us. That is our experience, knowledge from reality, and connection to people who share the same passion. Therefore, I disagree that we can see historical objects and artworks by computer. In my opinion, museums and art galleries are essential in our life.
Essay 2:
There is a belief that historical items or works of art can be seen by computers instead of watching them at art exhibitions. In my opinion, I partly agree with this statement due to several following reasons.
On the one hand, there is a wide array of reasons that computers can contribute to online learning of history. Firstly, online images can satisfy those who only search for information. In fact, Internet users can find out a lot of information about the artifacts with a click of a mouse. Secondly, online art galleries can help searchers access historical information more easily than real museums. For example, there is no limit time to artistic creations on the Internet, compared to the opening time at real art galleries.
On the other hand, real museums play an important role in our society. The primary reason is that people raise their patriotism through historical remnants. This is simply because historical objects can remind modern people of the fierce wars to gain independence and sovereignty. Another reason is that art galleries act as a hub for entertainment. Some people have a sense of relaxation when they contemplate great artworks.
In conclusion, although the Internet can make a contribution to learning about historical objects, real museums still play an indispensable role in our society.
