Topic 33: Write an essay (150 - 300 words) about this topic:
With the development of online, there is no future for the radio. To what extent do you agree?
Essay 1:
In the contemporary world, the advancement of cyber technologies is ever-increasing which leads to the decline of the radios. While I accept that the Internet has numerous advantages in terms of entertainment and information-intake, I believe that the need and value of radios in the marketplace are irreplaceable.
It cannot be denied that the development of the cyber world helps us connect in numerous channels on TV or webpages on smartphones with ease, including radio channels by using the internet. Within a few clicks, seekers can access any links to get the necessary information and even online entertainment sources. Apart from speedy accessibility, it is portable and convenient for those who spend a lot of time staying out. To be more precise, the extensions of the internet such as weather forecasts, traffic reports, and maps do wonder for goers because they can check their own information at their own convenience. It is not to say that radios have no redeeming quality in this modern age. Small radios can easily be seen in any cars which benefit drivers’ long journeys better than the internet with several functions. For instance, radios work everywhere without the appearance of 3G, 4G, Wifi, and so forth. That is wonderful for drivers who need to get updated traffic situations when driving to a remote area. Another advantage of radios is bringing the aesthetics for any vintage spaces. With traditional value and antique look, there are many radios existing as an ornament in vintage coffee shops nowadays.
In conclusion, despite the development of online technologies, not only does the existence of radios provides humans with vital information, but it also maintains permanent traditional beauties in the timeline of humankind.

Essay 2:
Along with the development of the Internet, it is a phenomenon that online media will explode all over the world from now. However, I still consider that there is a chance for the radio. The number of audiences could decrease but the radio will never disappear.
Until the Internet appeared, nothing is the opponent of the radio, even television cannot reach the same level of its popularity. Over 100 years from its birth, radio has changed the way we communicate. Simply, it is a wireless device that can catch radio waves and convert them into sound our ears can hear. The radio played an important role in the past. Radio provides an essential source of free music, news, and chatting. In modern days, it is still used widely. For example, radios are often installed in vehicles and many companies choose to advertise through radio stations as a big market because they do not need to invest too much money for animation.
On the contrary, due to the Internet and modern technological devices such as smartphones, people can variously gain information or entertain. People can directly access websites or applications on smartphones with special functions to listen to music or read news. Inevitably, it contributes to decreasing the listeners of the radio. As a result, traditional radios are innovated into digital radios. People can download radio applications to use conveniently.
To sum up, despite the diversity of multimedia, radio has a fortified role in the society of humans. Radio is still the medium that reaches the widest audience across the world and is the preferred source of news and entertainment for billions of people every day.
