Many management interviews are based around assessing not only a person’s level of experience and knowledge but also their personality. Is leadership an innate skill? What other characteristics do companies look for in a manager?
In the modern day-the days when people devote all their time and energy searching for a position of management for themselves, the standards and criteria of promotion interviews are getting increasingly high and based around newer and more strict ones, making it extremely difficult for them to get what they want. And while some get depressed about the lack of innate leading skills that prevent their career success, I hold a strong belief that it's not the only point to this phenomenon.
To begin with, it's true that besides the level of experience and knowledge, personality has also become an important aspect that does a great effect on each person's management skill. But "No one was born with perfection, it is not personality but social interaction is the main block to build a good leader. To be a leader means to have the ability to understand some needs of the public and having proper behaviour and the leadership quality is achieved rather than to born with. The leadership qualities may trigger when there are crisis or opportunities in a community or a particular place which allows individuals to step forward and take some responsibilities. These characteristics occur to respond the social requests for overcoming some obstacles in that place, which enable the leader to lead the others to success.
Furthermore, if a person in charge wants to achieve further achievement, he'd better pay respect to his workers. It enables him to lead, manage and embrace people from various types. At the same time, the leader should treat others equally regardless their background and social status. Treating people equally might seem challenging in the term of social satisfaction. However, if a leader can solve this issue, they will be known as a real leader.
Some people are born with leadership quality as per many people’s opinion. But I hold a strong belief that leadership is a quality which is not only related to someone’s personality, but also his social influence, motivation and ambition. Leadership is a quality we must learn and feel passionate about.
In conclusion, some qualities of leadership could not be achieved as a gift or destiny, yet it takes time and effort. Being friendly to society may turn out to be an indispensable aspect to reach that goal since this opportunity provides people to engage deeply.
