Write an essay (150 - 300 words) about this topic:
Buying fashionable clothes is wasteful because people don't need new clothes all the time. Clothing should be bought and used more wisely. Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Making trendy clothing has become a fastest and most fruitful industry in this modern world, bringing about an enormous turnover to the producers across the world, especially in developed countries. However, some people argue that it is not always necessary to buy new clothes which should be purchased and worn properly.
Personally, I am confident that we should be smarter at buying fashionable clothing and dress them wisely with these arguments.
Firstly, the producers always set a very high price on the designer clothes, which are not comparable to their real value. In fact, the prices of clothing displayed at the high-end stores at Paris or London like Louis Vuitton, Giorgio Armani, Sarah Burton or Versace are extremely high compared to the other trademarks which have the same characteristics and quality. Moreover, whilst attracting celebrities to use their items, these luxurious brand name owners use their images to advertise their products, creating a trend of imitating these renowned people among the youngsters. In reality, only important figures such as the famous singers, actresses or affluent people can afford and wear these stylish items very often and dress to showcase their luxury and glamour on the catwalks, bringing about the fame and wealth for them.
Secondly, it is totally wasteful when buying these trendy clothes because ordinary people have very limited chances to wear them. In fact, instead of frequently appearing in public events like the best-known celebrities, people rarely appear on special events, so there is no need to purchase these stylish goods. Definitely, buying these high-priced products is absolutely a waste of money, especially with people who stay on a strict budget. After a short time, these fashionable clothing will soon become outdated and left behind in their wardrobes, not bringing about any concrete benefits for them at all.
Thirdly, designer clothing should be purchased in an appropriate way for the well-being of the smart consumers.
In some special events like their wedding ceremonies and parties, people should wear trendy clothing like gowns, suits, and dresses to make them more adorable and glamorous. However, common people should buy a limited number of designer clothing suitable to their circumstances. This smart option not only helps them keep their budget for another essential demand but also avoids spending wastefully.
Based on these arguments, in the end, I can conclude that people should not buy so many fashionable clothes as they could to avoid wastefulness because of their high prices and little chances of wearing them. They only buy a limited amount of the trendy clothing to beautify themselves in some special events like wedding ceremonies or evening parties.
