Recent research shows that the consumption of junk food is a major factor in poor diet and this is detrimental to health. Some people believe that better health education is the answer to this problem. To what extent do you agree?
Many human problems of health have been associated with the consumption of fast food because of its disadvantages in the latest study. While people believe that increasing citizens’ knowledge of health is a good solution to this issue, I somewhat agree with this answer.
The main reason why I think that better health education is a useful way to this problem is to help people know more about the evils of junk food they are having every day. First and foremost, providing information about nosh is very necessary because most of the fast-food is processed in bad condition (street or pavement) where lack of food hygiene and customer does not check the quality of fast food on the current market, leading people easily contract the serious disease from kinds of stale and dirty food. Secondly, better health education is one of the useful ways to help citizens acknowledge the damaging effects of fatty substances that are contained in fast food which makes many people prematurely diagnosed with diabetes.
Better health education, however, is not a complete answer as it ignores the wider social factors that cause people to eat unhealthily. Firstly, in modern society, there are many people who do not have enough time to have a nutritious meal, so they just come across a fast food restaurant and find something to appease the hunger immediately. Moreover, the development of a fast-food advertising program on television or the Internet makes people unable to stand against the attraction of fast food. Therefore, they easily bypass the health advice of experts or doctors and then enjoy them. Besides, these videos of advertising program make other people think that eating burgers and pizzas are seen to be cool and impressive in some ways.
Overall, I can clearly come to the conclusion that the suggestion that better health education should be emphasized is sensible but it is not a perfect solution.
