Write an essay (150 - 300 words) about this topic:
Many people believe that global environmental problems should be dealt with internationally rather than domestically. What is your opinion?
People have different views on how environmental protection could be solved. It is widely accepted that the issue should be addressed from an international perspective rather than domestic exertion. While there is a dilemma in dealing with the question of the global environment, I believe that the big issues should be settled both internationally and domestically.
At first, each country has different kinds of environmental problems. The government obviously has to pay more money on research and then try to find out the best way to address this or at least to reduce its negative impacts. But, most developing countries meet difficulties in finance, so they are not able to afford the high costs of environmental protection. Therefore, international cooperation that could save a lot of money and time to support is necessary. Through international cooperation and communication, other countries can share statistics of polluted levels and experience in protecting the native environment to avoid unnecessary waste. Without international aid, the local environment would continue to be damaged, leading to the global environment ruined soon and more seriously in the long run.
However, every nation plays an important part in our environment protection. In there, the local people’s positive attitude toward environment is considered the critical factor that increases the effect of international aid- if they understand the danger of devastating environment and are aware of environmental protection, they would not continue to do harm and take some practical actions to protect the environment. Now there are some international organizations (Greenpeace) actively to protect our environment.
To conclude, I believe that our environment is getting trouble. Hence, governments should join hands to limit negative impacts. In the other word, global environmental problems should be dealt with both international perspective and domestic attempts.
